Definition: Uighurs are Sunni Muslims in Central Asia who speak Turkic. Simply put, they're China's Muslims. The majority of the world's 20 million Uighurs live in Xinjiang province. China accuses the Uighurs of seeking separatism, resulting in strict controls on the Uighur people and even the executions of accused nationalists/separatists.
