Sadr City

Definition: Sadr City is a Shiite slum in Baghdad, Iraq (one of nine Baghdad districts), and a stronghold of radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and his Mahdi Army. Before the U.S. invaded in 2003, the district was called Saddam City.
Also Known As: Revolution City (antiquated -- its original name upon being built as low-income housing in 1959)
