In the first full day of Israel's ground offensive into Gaza, thousands of troops effectively cut off Gaza City from the rest of the Gaza Strip, vowing to deal a crushing blow to Hamas' militant machine while a Hamas spokesman, addressing the Israeli soldiers, claimed "Gaza will be a graveyard for you, God willing."
