Definition: The Khyber Pass is a 33-mile pass over the Hindu Kush mountains linking Pakistan and Afghanistan. Long considered a key trading route over the rough terrain, the pass has recently been targeted as a key smuggling route from Pakistan to the Taliban militants in Afghanistan.
