Definition: Kadmia, which means "forward" in Hebrew, is the centrist party founded by Ariel Sharon just weeks before a stroke put the prime minister into a coma. Sharon quit the Likud party and former Prime Minister Shimon Peres quit the Labour party to form Kadima. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert took over for Sharon after his stroke. Kadima is now the largest party in the Knesset, or parliament.
