In the last week of June 2011, Greek lawmakers were faced with a tough choice: proceed with unpopular austerity measures on top of spending cuts and tax hikes that have already helped send unemployment rates over 16 percent, or not act and lose the next $17 billion bailout installment from the EU and IMF.
